Silly Me

As I viewed Dione Giorgi's image of nightlife in the streets of Valletta, Malta Christmas 2014 http://365project.org/sangwann/365/2014-12-21 I thought, "I must post a picture of Christmas nightlife in rural Australia as a contrast". Our 2 little churches, St Luke's and St Mary's, were celebrating Christmas with a combined churches Carols by Candle Light. What an ideal opportunity it would have been but silly me, in my rush, I left the camera at home, didn't I? So sorry you'll just have to imagine a happy little band of about 30 people sitting around on blankets under a jacaranda tree adorned with fairy lights, in St Mary's churchyard singing along to carols from this little booklet as they gaze at a floodlit rusting tank tucked in against the weatherboard walls of St Mary's with children dancing and skipping around to the music. You may also be able to almost hear the four beautiful voices of the men standing at the back of the group, singing with pure joy and allowing us all to stay reasonably in tune.
I can imagine it, thanks to your photo and beautiful description!

Just beautiful. this - to me - means more than all the glare of decorated houses and city lights. A lovely idea to photograph the booklet and tell the story. I wish you blessings and joy at Christmas
