This is the baby that has been the reason behind the aerial assault on my barnyard over the past three months. (See August 23rd). He was flying with his parents today. He is huge. He appears to be even bigger than the parent birds, wedge tailed eagles, Australia's largest raptors with a wing span around 2.5m. The crows were beside themselves and put on a spectacular aerial defence display when the three perched in a tree above the chook house. (May up load that photo tomorrow if nothing else excites me in the meantime). Having now left the nest he will be fed by the parent birds for about another 6 months so the turkeys are not out of danger yet!
He's a teenager and is bigger than his parents! Whats new? I had cousins who were over 6ft and both parents were only in the low 5Ft material! What great opportunities you are going to have! No pressure, though!
