For the past few days butterflies big and small have been filling the paddocks with colour as they flutter by heading north. Late yesterday afternoon this group, the ones with blue spotted wings, paused briefly in the zinnia patch, fed deeply before heading off again following whatever it is that calls them north around this time every year.
