Edith Mills was absolutely thrilled when asked to ride in one of the two World War Two army jeeps that brought up the rear of the Anzac Day parade. Well into her nineties she was one of only a handful of WW2 servicemen who joined up from Ubobo and was well enough to join us as part of our 100 Years of Anzac celebrations. In fact she had to be lifted into the vehicle but apparently has not stopped talking about it ever since. Ours was the first Anzac Day luncheon she had been invited to attend and this gave her a thrill as well. I am so glad we were able to provide her this privilege at this stage of her life.
