Don't think there'll be a train along this line any day soon. This is all that remains of a rail bridge - the metal tracks suspended in mid-air above a thin row of ash. The fire has been burning for 10 days and the country is blackened along a 20km road frontage Its now burning back into unoccupied Water Board land and through a National Park. oct15words black
Oh dear this is a sad sight. Frightening to see the damage fire makes. My 22 year old grandson in NZ is a volunteer fire fighter & he has been out so many times in the last weeks fire fighting in the bush...his uniform is all black, I was shocked when I saw photos.
