Following the example of many and taking a look back at 2015. I've used this collage to write letters to two special aunts - the only two of my Mother's seven siblings still living and a couple of cruising friends I like to stay in touch with. I'm feeling quite chuffed with myself. Today is my Mother's Birthday. Letter writing is a thing I keep putting off but I think Mum has been looking down today and encouraging me, "Come on Margaret. Get on with it". Mum was an avid letter writer and paper clippings collector. Although she lived an isolated life as a hard working farmer's wife she noted all the special events in people's lives, took clippings from the paper stored them in boxes and scrapbooks and wrote "a note" to congratulate, console, encourage, celebrate, honour or simply share her love. Now I am receiving many of them back from relative and friends who find them in the recipients belongings and think I might like them as mementos. Happy Birthday Mum. Remembered with love.
Its nice that the recipients of your mothers letters kept those letters! I have bundles too - what to do with them! Those Aunts won't have a computer so letters will be special! I have some relations like that too!
A fabulous collage and amazing tribute to your Mum. If you'd like to get in touch on the Sun we're in P229 (5229 on the phone). There will be many sea days.
Thank you for you so nice wishes.
Wish you, and all you love ones, a GREAT 2016
