A young mother appearing to be weighed down by the growing baby in her pouch but I saw her jump about 6 feet in the air to clear a fence as she fled a local dog that decided to chase her mob.
oh yes, lovely shot, just love our marsupials and the way mums with pouches cope with everything. my shot of Racee today is not as heavy a pouch, but heavy enough and only the day before I watched her leap at least a metre from one tree branch to another high up in the tree tops. so they are surprisingly agile even with these heavy pouches. this is a fav shot for me, love everything about it!
@koalagardens so true our marsupials are amazing. I love it when the joys get so big there is always legs and tails protruding. I've even seen joeys simply tuck a head inside especially in the dry. Now it has rained these big ones will be in for a rude awakening. They'll be kicked out any day now.
