Baling Tonight by ubobohobo

Baling Tonight

This is the final rake of the hay mentioned on 9th Jan in preparation for baling tonight . The weather has been kind and drying conditions perfect. And if you know the smell of fresh cut lucerne hay it would make any cow drool.
Looks lovely - and a wonderful farm shot!

@farmreporter Made up into 585 bales. Kel's been busy all morning. He's now inside sucking on an ice block to cool down.

What size bales are they? Are they round bales like the ones in the photo I FAV'ed?
And, it is interesting that you bale at night - we can't because dew goes on them and they don't bale dry.

Lovely clear shot of farm life.

@farmreporter we bale at night just as the dew settles to retain the leaf but you have to be very careful it doesn't get too damp or you have to pull up. This was packed as square bales and not wrapped.

Good luck with your baling. Great to get your feed in safe & sound!
