Dry Weather

Dry weather is driving the galahs into the house yard in search of food. They are enjoying a little touch of green where I'm watering to try to keep a fruit tree alive.
They are a very pretty bird. They look a bit like our pigeons - except for their huge beaks!

So interesting! I read in the news that somewhere in rural Queensland (I know it's a big area) there was so much rain that there were alligators in the streets.

@janeandcharlie Townsville in far north Queensland is a disaster zone. They,ve had over a metre of rain. The dam supplying the city,s water reached 220% capacity even with controlled releases. So to protect the wall they have had to open the flood gates. Think New Orleans for an idea of what it looks like in the city.
