Wow some very big turkeys! What strange looking birds aren’t they ….are turkeys as popular in Australia to eat. I think they aren’t eaten as often here as they used to be.
@happypat No not as poplar as it was but I see they sell frozen portions rather than whole birds. Only around Christmas do I start to see an increase in whole birds for sale. These two are pets. I call them Bill and Ben after the flower pot men of yesteryear.
They are seldom apart. The old chaps are 12 years old and like Kel and I, starting to suffer the aches and pains of old age but they still love to strut about and show off their glorious plumage.
@ubobohobo I was asking because when I saw wild turkeys in NZ our son was shocked when I asked him if anyone ate turkey…..no way mum he said! Yours are two wonderful & imensley grateful old men then!!
