The family heading across the harbour on the barge to begin their summer holidays on the island - a tradition begun by my husband's family over 80 years ago. A lot easier now than then. Today, you pack your car at home, drive it onto the barge and drive it off at Farmer's Point and up to the shack. In the old days it took several dingy trips across the harbour and everything was loaded and unloaded by hand and carried up item by item.
The scenery is beautiful!
