summer's silhoutte by vankrey

summer's silhoutte

Back to late evening shots without natural light, I turn to candlelight and the reflection it makes on the marble floor. Besides having a subtle but beautiful "twist" in it to make it appear off kilter, this blue bottle contained amazingly delicious "sake" from Niigata, Japan. I had a former student paint whatever she liked on it, so knowing that I'm a gardener, she picked a lily. I wanted to play with this week's theme of light and shade, but wasn't sure if this fits, being more "shadows and reflections"...
Still fits the theme, fascinating subject matter.

I like how you took a trip memento, had it turned into a personally meaningful object, turned it into a photography practice item, and created a beautiful shot. Definitely a light and shade photo!
