mining for diamonds by vankrey

mining for diamonds

Weekend means I'm home from work before the sun sets, so I couldn't resist using natural light. I also wanted to continue to play with this week's theme. Given a fresh layer of snow, brilliant light, and great shadows (and know this is reminiscent of my earlier "floating frost faeries"), I present "mining for diamonds." There is no excusing my fascination of trying to capture the prismatic sparkle of snow. I think I took nearly 100 photos and had to come inside several times to warm my hands under warm water, but I hit one I really like.
Bokehlicious!

@dreamatrix @adam2 Thanks! The "mining" part was playing with minute manual focus differences and movements until I hit this shot.

@vankrey Hello Michael! I see your focus tends towards the minimalistic, abstract side so my push challenge to you is a wide angle, black and white shot with strong grains and textures. Good luck and have fun!
