So I thought I should try the get pushed challenge that I issued to quite a few of you. Here is my version including:
1) screen from Daisen-in with an inscription of my name in kanji from the Buddhist priest (my bedroom)
2) glass tumbler, end of day friend (kitchen)
3) animal trio (bought on our wedding in Japan, including a crane and turtle, auspicious for longevity, and a boar, symbolizing the year we were married (playroom)
4) unfinished knitting project with Koigu yarn, a symbol of my starting lots of things, but not quite following through on them, and of my love of knitting (basement)
5) original carving done by my late father, an incredible craftsman and handyman (den)
I love this -- slices of Michael from various rooms. Would you include the actual challenge as you issue it? I can infer, but would be interesting to see your words included here. I have to say that my eye went straight to the carving -- your father hand carved this himself ????? I like the idea that his spirit (through his carving's head turn) is looking back onto your life . . .
Like Junko, @jyokota , my eye also went right to the carving. Your father was really talented. I can see that the arts are in your DNA. An excellent composition/still life based on the challenge you set up for yourself and others.
