new moon v.2

Star trails from a different vantage point. Most photographers keep the North Star, Polaris, in the frame to get the circle effect, like the shots I posted yesterday. I might almost prefer this one. Without the North Star in the frame, it made an interesting "swoop" effect, but not all in the same curved pattern. If you look closely, there was a shooting star that I caught in one of the over 150 shots I took to get this stacked photograph. It's near the center, but a bit up and to the right of center.

Stunning, I think I prefer this one as it's not, as you say, what most photographers do.

@graemestevens thanks Graeme - it's nice to see how to approach it a little differently (not that this hasn't been done thousands of time before, but there is a thrill when it all turns out.)
