patterns in chaos

Just because you can't see it doesn't mean it's not there. I'm fascinated by these little creatures. Such industry and purpose. No wasted effort. What seems to be a chaotic pile up of ants, upon closer inspection, give glimpses of order and form. And yes, I'm double-dipping into my first mad minute challenge for the word "mickle" and the weekly theme of patterns in nature.
I find these industrious creatures fascinating as well. Wonderful shot!

Oh that looks cool, but wow, it makes me itch thinking of them

It is good to kill two birds with one stone! I love to watch and shoot ants! I like the light in this! And that is most certainly a mickle of ants!

Nice shot! If you ever see time-lapse video of ant colonies you'll realize it is not just glimpses of order and form. It is quite creepy actually.

Cool! Love the focus. When I was a kid, I spent a number of my recess periods crouched down watching ants when other, more normal (er...typical) kids were playing four square and jumping rope.
