Japanese iris slurper

Taffy was kind enough to let me use her 100 macro on our Picture Japan trip and I tried thinking of many ways I could get her to forget she brought it, or trade it for one of my lenses...but seriously, it is fun to be able to trade lenses (or borrow them) on a photo walk. This one was one of the finer macros that I got from the day's walking about Kinosaki, a hot springs resort town north of Kyoto.
Wonderful capture! I just took a butterfly shot today. My little p & s can't hold a candle to the clarity of this shot, but it's pretty interesting how similar the two butterflies are!

So glad (and envious) of this shot. I'm glad my macro could contribute! This is stunning -- such clear details and a great POV.
