Memory in cement

The Jewish Memorial in Berlin. Grey by day and by night, especially in the light of the consulates and fancy hotels.
Quite a powerful monument and image.

Thank you, @vstap @katymac80 ! It is very powerful as a monument in general - no matter the weather or season or time of day.

Libby, it is fairly new, taking up a huge space almost right by the Brandenburg gate. The official name is the Holocaust Memorial - a giant field of grey cement blocks of various height that you can walk around, get lost and meditate. This is fairly controversial, as it is so huge and some find it disproportionally big for the vibrant growing city, taking up so much "valuable" space right downtown. Others say, that this is exactly the way to remember the victims, as the Holocaust left a huge "gap" in the humanity itself. @libbythewifey
