Triplets

While kids were crawling all over the wet playground, I was trying out the "miniature" setting on my camera. I like it more on black for bigger contrast.
As usual, I am always looking forward to reading your reactions, comments and critique. Thank you!
Ooh yes, extra good on black. Nice composition and colour. I expect the miniature setting is another one my camera lacks - about to google and find out :)

Thanks, Clare! Oh - this one is fun! It gives you a choice between 6 options - top, center or bottom, right, middle or left would stay in focus while everything else turns into a more or less 3-d looking blur. I think it saturates your colors a bit too. I liked it especially for long tree-lined alley shots, as it creates a real eye-catching focus at the end of them, blurring out the edges (but it's so grey and wet today, it didn't look attractive enough).

Very cool...especially on black! Had never heard about a miniature setting. Will find out if my camera has it too...

I have a more basic version of this on my camera, called the diorama setting. Quite interesting. It also made me look at various other Art modes my camera offers, which may well be fun to use in the future - so thank you for the prompt :) Just noticed that the bottom section of your photo seems to be a different shade of yellow in the blurred-out bit - or maybe the building is actually a different colour at that point?

simple and nice composition

Interesting composition. Not familiar with a miniature setting!

I don't have a camera setting but often achieve the "Toytown" effect using the tilt shift and centre focus options in Snapseed. It's good fun and can get some amazing effects.

Well noticed - It was a different color, I think they were trying to cover up some graffiti or something similar, and the color didn't quite match. That's why I like this shot more in that miniature settings, otherwise the switch was too obvious and kind of broke up the composition.
Oh, and I am glad you found some similar (and other) creative settings - I find them sometimes a very interesting option.

Thank you, Corinne, Danette, Tatjana and Swillin' Billy Flynn! :)

I didn't know that about the option like this, Swillin' Billy Flynn!

Tatjana, I will be on the outlook for "creative pictures" then :)

Thank you very much for stopping by and leaving a comment and/or a fav! Every time I find something else unexpected to photograph in town, I am still surprised and thankful to 365 that it made me look around to begin with! I am glad you liked it or found it interesting.

@jennyjustfeet - This picture was taken with Sony Alpha 6000. This setting just keeps a portion of the picture in focus, while blurring out all the rest. Here, it is not so obvious as it is just a flat surface, but otherwise it makes a bigger impact.

Thank you so much for viewing, leaving a comment and fav-ing!

Derek, thank you for your suggestion. I had the same idea first! And then I spent some time to play with the cropping quite a bit and did a survey in the family - at the end, everyone agreed on the current crop. Despite of the branches and the little sign "distracting" from the simplicity of the main subject, they seem to add just a bit of something to make it more interesting. With the crop you invasion, the image became to "sterile". But we didn't leave this possibility unexplored :) Thanks!

Ann and Arancha, thanks a lot for commenting on my picture and also thank you for the fav, Ann! I am amazed how much more one notices just because of the "pressure" to have to take a posting-worth picture a day.
