We did a quick trip to the pumpkin expo this afternoon. With us leaving for a family break next week, it was probably the last time we were there with the kids before it closes. Always a sad sight - with leaves covering the pumpkins and the pumpkin creations, with many of the carvings looking old and dried out. But nonetheless, there is undeniable beauty in hundreds if not thousands of pumpkings gathered together in one spot. I found this one pretty interesting among others on display. I also figured out - I am not ready for the switch to the winter time. I need more light during the day - this one was taken when it was really getting dark, unexpectedely early!
Thank you for your visits and comments.
Actually I like this shot much better, than any carved pumkin. It is plain beautiful,... and who knows this pumpkin does not turn into a horse carriage at midnight???
Thank you for stopping by and commenting on the pumpkins! Mona - with this one, I actually had to think not of a carriage, but of it looking exactly like a globe with some kind of continents outlined in black.
I've also just stumbled upon a documentary on our pumpkin festival - it's in German, but it's fun to watch when they talk about all those 40+ thousands of pumpkins that are used for the expo, tell how the biggest German pumpkin soup is created, and what is behind the scenes of the boat race in pumpkin boats: http://swrmediathek.de/player.htm?show=57c91c80-80b2-11e5-be09-0026b975f2e6
