I will spare you photos of a house filled with boxes and more boxes. Exhausting day for both kids and me, so after coming back to the temp apartment and sticking them into bed, I needed to relax. For that, I had to sit down on the floor and take pictures of the UFO (= Unidentified ph(F)otographic Object, which I dug up from one of the boxes stored here for years. I bought this thing long before I got interested in photography (although.... why would I buy a camera then????) - anyhow, bought it around year 2000 I guess, because it reminded me of my dad's Soviet-made Zenit camera that he had when I was little. I even one time had a film in it and gave it a go, and I suspect, there still might be a roll of film in it..... Anyhow, I have no idea what I have here on my hands, but despite of the mystery, I like the look and feel of it. And the fact that on the back, it proudly says "Made In the USSR", makes me smirk.
Thanks for visiting!
I love the look of it. I really admire people who can pull off using film, it's so difficult for someone of my generation to take a photo without seeing it on the liveview. Now, that's not to say I haven't used film, my first camera was when I was five back in 1984 and I always shot with something since then, but my formative photographic years have all been digital. There are only a few chances to shoot, and you don't know if you got the shot until much later. I think that's so thrilling!
@roulin К сожалению, куплена была уже тоже не новая - так что, даже не знаю точно, в каком она состоянии. Прочитала про объектив этот - говорят, что с его помощью создается какой-то необычный "swirly bokeh" - попробуем как-нибудь.
@jyokota@joansmor@gijsje@thistle@thistle@seattlite@lynne5477@bokehdot@kali66@bebecitosfotos .... try it?????? You mean when you only have 24 or 36 shots to work with and don't want to waste them on "just getting the shot right"??????? Where you can't preview and have to wait long till you get the film back???????? What kind of photography is that? :) Just kidding.
Melissa - I know exactly what you say about how strange it is to not rely on the comfort of digital photography.
Maybe one day I would really try it! Now... I just have to find out where you get that thing that used to be called "film" :)
@vera365 It's one of the last ones! Electronic shutter, and a bit of a rarity. If you look at the serial number on the back, the first two digits tell you the year it was made.
Go on, give it a go. Film photography is mindful, and very relaxing. Nothing gets you into the moment in the same way.
Also, I thought I was following you, but it seems I wasn't. So I'm following you again!
