Long story. The neighborhood parents bring their children across a busy road and then see them off on their way to school. And parents get to talk to each other. That's how we met a lot of new people recently and that's how today's party came to be - four of the families who routinely bump into each other met for Oktoberfest. Why Oktoberfest? Well, because our close neighbors turned out to be another "traveling" family - recently came back to AA after 10 years abroad in Germany and China. Hence the Chinese Terracotta Warrier on their porch that today was serving as a holder for a Bavarian outfit. Plus another couple of international families who live right around the corner - it was a lovely day! Kids had a blast, parents had a blast eating, drinking and talking.
