By this, I mean going to a beautiful night Xmas market with the right lens and a full battery, but NO SD CARD! I did enjoy it though - not taking pictures, but the mulled wine, music, hustle and bustle etc. This shot happened with the cell phone on the way back. Little kiddo found it on a building.
Thanks for visiting!
Forgot the SD card a number of times. Very frustrating. I have 2 now. A spare in case the other one has been left in the computer. It has saved my bacon a few times.
A sign that I need :)
I have! and left with an empty battery! Lately, I have been taking a photo inside my flat before stepping out and I wonder if it's my insurance that all will work well when I got out? I'm back in Munich and that means everything I carry out of my flat in the morning stays on my back all day long. SO - what is the "right lens" for the night Xmas market you refer to above? I've gone out twice with my 50mm because of its low-light capability but it's a little too tight due to the crowds. Oh, the crowds. Crowds. Did I mention crowds? When everyone is standing around drinking mug after mug and having a great time, it feels a bit weird to be alone and not drinking.
@jyokota Envy you! My kids cried when the FB did another update from our "former" christmas market in Germany. They just want to go back and enjoy it all - here, it was just one day and not as spectacular and festive as it was in Germany.
The "right" lens for me for those dark occasions is my Nikon 35mm 1.8 - the only one I have that will work for this purpose. On my cropped Nikon sensor it works like the 50mm, usually allowing for a variety of shots between close-up ones and not so. Hope Santa brings something similar for my new Fuji! ;)
@houser934 If I am not mistaken, it's somewhere on Ann Street. We were walking from Kerrytown towards Main street, I believe. There is a little architect office with all the little building models in the windows, and somewhere right there is he sign. House 109 1/2. - I remember because it was a funny number.
@vera365 -- so I'll keep trying with my 50mm. I wish you and your kids could enjoy Christmas Market again, too -- and I'll bet some day you will.I have been going every night and checking out different ones -- Munich has 24 of them and there are so many small towns around with a market on the weekends. Stay tune -- as soon as Lightroom is up and running again I'll post some.
