It's been a while since I've posted my old cat's picture, but today he came and spent some time being very photogenic. So, here it is. 16 years-old beauty. :)Thanks for visiting!
@pamgleason Yes I am shooting with XT2! So far, I really like it. I had my Nikon D7200 and as a lighter carry-around camera I had a Sony 6000 - THAT was my love/hate one. I loved the quality of the pictures and it's ability to perform in various conditions but very often I found that it took great pictures not because I made good decisions as a picture-taker, but just because it has been programmed to take great pictures. Many things I could have controlled were in the menus and I was too lazy to go and change it when taking pictures. So, after having it for about two years, I sold it and got the Fuji. What I love are the main controls on the top - that I can pre-set stuff even before turning the camera on. That a lot of things I want to adjust on the go are right there, without me needing to go to the menus. What I need is more practice with the focus modes, especially with moving subjects. But otherwise I am happy. On the recent trip, I pulled out the "old" Nikon as I don't have a zoom yet for the Fuji, and Nikon suddenly felt like a Neanderthal kind of device :) It was heavy too!
@vera365 I got the XT2 this summer. When you get it right, it is so awesome. But I do find that it can have focus issues with moving subjects and I have spent hours fooling around with the various tracking modes and don't feel like I have figured them out yet. Occasionally, in a burst of shots, one or two will be out of focus for no reason at all, and it is nowhere near as good as my Nikon in difficult lighting conditions. And it doesn't turn on fast enough for me, or focus fast enough. That's the hate part, but the love part is the vibrance and the detail and amazing focus when it is right. Shots out of my Nikon usually need some adjustments to look good. Out of the XT2 they almost never do. I also love the look and the feel and the metal dials like a real camera. I got the X100s a few years ago, and that brought me back to Fuji. My first film camera was a Fujica way back when. I feel like I have come home. I wish there was a longer 2.8 prime lens for it. Maybe they will make one.
Love that face!
