Thanks for sharing. So often we try to 'sell' the positive and do not acknowledge that it's not always so great. I hope he finds pockets of comfort or fun somewhere along the way.
@houser934 Thanks! I very much agree - he got very puzzled today when everyone whom we met on the way to school asked him very forcefully whether he is excited.... He was not, and people not allowing this through at all made him rather aggravated. He was fine later, of course, but the morning was emotionally rough. He went to "young 5s" last year and during the second half of the year he got really bored. I hope that switching to the new school with rather different take on learning for the K will give him a fresh start.
