It was the ad slogan for Porsche in the US some years ago. This picture reminded me of that - a car exhibited outside of the Porsche Museum, reflected in a shiny overhang of the building.
Thank you for your visits, comments, critique and suggestions!
I see contrasts. Curves and straights, an iconic shape both recognizable and transformed, a tone gradation from a dark corner to a light one, For generations, museums were designed to look static and permanent. This reflection is change in motion - as is Porsche the company. Great eye and execution to capture that. Maybe I'm reading too much into the architecture...
@fotoblah - Thank you for such a great comment on the reflected Porsche picture. In fact, I think that you are VERY right about everything you say, and what I also come to believe every time I am in that museum is that whoever designed it, thought of EVERY little detail that makes it as dynamic, as progressive and future-oriented, as fluid and flexible as it is. Plus, it's a stunning piece of architecture that is wroth a picture on itself from every side. There are lines, patterns, reflections, shadows, highlights, lines and curves, it seems to be truly alive and looks different with every light. In this picture, the car was parked outside, and the darker part of the reflected pavement is because it was deeper under the mirror overhang. I very much liked how it turned out, it added dynamic to the shot and some direction - and yet I am asking myself again if that was just a accident that they parked the car like this or .... Anyhow, It's a paradise for photographers. Thank you so much for your comment!
Thank you all so much for your comments on the "liquid Porsche" picture! I didn't even realised that it looks like it is underwater till so many of you pointed it out - and now every time I look at it, I see water! I am glad you enjoyed the photo, and if ever you are around Stuttgart and want to visit the Porsche Museum - Bring your camera along! Too many great photo opportunities!
@vera365 And thank you so much for your reply. After reading it, I spent a half hour on the net to see how I could fit Sttutgart into the Amsterdam - Madrid leg of my spring trip.
