I have been showing the fall splendor of Oregon, but thought you should see the TRUE colors we see. Umbrellas! Yesterday was another Cross Country meet for my grandson...a typical beautiful fall day! Pouring rain, but full of color.
So when we feel jealous in Texas because of the lack of Fall color we should be glad we are dry? Dry is good, you should try it. :)

@yonnie he did great...a natural runner...the only 5th grade boy in a group of 200...6th, 7th and 8th graders and he placed 13th!!! can you tell I am proud?
@purdey if we waited for the rain to stop, we would not get to do much but indoor activities...I really don't mind the rain, but when it gets windy, then I hate to be outdoors.
@lyno it was not so bad, actually it was warm enough, just had to keep under the umbrella to be dry...but it is life in Oregon, so not a problem for me
@nana2r HAHA....yes, there are benifits to dry...but without the rain, we would not have the pretty flowers in spring and the nice colors in fall...and SNOW! I do love the seasons...but sometimes...yes, DRY would be nice...about February when I am tired of snow and rain and being inside
@leananiemand yep, not a place for your bike at the moment...I say about July...August...Sept....then that would be perfect...you thought the wind was bad getting to the Pacific...well, the wind in the gorge at this time of year is horrible! well, at least on a bike it is
@wordsmith yep...I did it for my kids...all runners, and now the tradition goes on with my grandkids....oh well...I have learned to bundle up and not care about some drops
@soboy5 I think for the runners, part of the drive is to run in the mud..my son was a runner as well (still is) at the same age as my grandson and once he lost his shoe in a mud hole and continued the run with only one shoe! afterwards we had to go back and he dug it out!!! fun times!
