Nick left for Mary Washington today, so he has the honor of being the guest photographer. After we dropped everything off I wanted to take a walk along the canal in Fredericksburg, so I could take some pictures, but he vetoed that idea -- "It smells bad." He took this picture earlier in the week when we went to Huntley Meadows and was pretty excited with it (he found the plant himself) . . . although I'm sure he would have preferred that I post the picture of the huge yellow spider that he found (but I accidentally deleted it . . . sorry). I will say this about the day: it is not any easier dropping them off the second year (even when you know how happy they are). Of course by the time I had gotten back home he had already texted me to order his books and pick up his pants, so things were back to normal.
Nice shot Nick! Ian goes to school for the first time today but I will be at stupid work and I won't drop him off or pick him up. Not very happy about that.
