fishing and the secret life of walter mitty

These sculptures are sitting on the side of one of one of the roads in Erie. They are made from cars and old car parts. I don't know who made them, but I love them, especially the fisherman. You would have thought Mom was driving a get away car the way she pealed in and out of the driveway. And Lily kept yelling for me to hurry. Geez. Later tonight most of the family went to see "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty." So so so funny, sad, heartwarming, harrowing. We were laughing so hard. I said it was the best movie I've seen lately. Then Nick pointed out that I haven't been to a movie in two years. Is it my fault that I have so many children that I never get out? I guess it is. You should definitely see this in the theater . . . Some of the scenery is amazing.
We visited a place in southeastern Kansas, near the Laura Inglas homesite, called Hubble's Rubble. It was sculpture made out of farm equipment all based on the Wizard of Oz. The artistry was amazing. There was no charge, just stop and visit. We were encouraged to explore by a sign that read 'Find our guestbook and sign it.' Folk art can be just as awe inspiring as museum art! Cool picture and story!

@laurielizard If you ever come east you should visit the American Visionary Arts Museum in Baltimore. It is full of what they call "outsider" art. So fun! @glassjennifer We missed you!
