my masks have arrived

Of course the two kids who are living here were dumbfounded because I didn’t make them myself. I’m looking at it as supporting a small business owner. My daughter said “Oh that’s what we’re calling it.” Yes. It is.
I'm shocked myself, because I KNOW you've got much more interesting fabric than this!

@margonaut I know! I’m so ashamed! Whenever I read about people knitting socks during WWII, I think about how I would have loved doing that and I imagine myself just knitting away. And then this week it occurred to me that mask-making is the sock-knitting of my lifetime and I’m totally rubbish at it. I will say that my one grandmother did not have a victory garden or knit anything during the war — she smoked cigarettes, played poker, and played the numbers. So maybe I come by it honestly.

@wiesnerbeth Your grandmother sounds like my kind of girl! I couldn't knit a sock if my life depended on it. I know this because I actually bought a sock loom. Nope, would have to go barefoot.

@margonaut I might be able to knit a sock but it would take me so long that we’d be barefoot most of the time.
