My friend’s family has a text chain in which they only talk about things they buy at Trader Joe’s. These golden gooseberries were highly recommended by her niece/nephew. I have to say I’m not totally sold just yet. They are an odd fruit texture and combination of tart and sweet. Maybe it’s an acquired taste . . .
@margonaut@eudora I thought they were green and soft like a grape. In texture they’re kind of like a cherry (but it looks like it’s going to be like a tomato). My son thinks they taste like apples — sort of like you ate a Granny Smith and a Honeycrisp together. I have to say the taste is growing on me and I’m getting used to the texture. Don’t know if I’ll buy them again . . .
