I’m doing a sew-along with Sarah Fielke — because I don’t have enough unfinished projects. The whole quilt is improv apples (really fun to make), and I was trying to improv the improv to make my apples honeycrisp, but this stripe is just irritating me.
Please don't reject that wonderful apple! The stripe adds energy to the block. I've used that very fabric on MANY quilts. It played a pretty big part on Hillary's accepting-the-nomination portrait.
@margonaut I love that fabric too. I have the same fabric in red and green and I think I cut out squares of each for the apples, but I’ll reconsider this one! It is irritating me less as the days pass since I think I’ve only finished eight blocks and there are 32. Maybe if I redo the corner and have the background cut into the yellow just a bit . . . I think it’s the even-ness of the line that bugs me. But it also might be my last little smidge of that yellow . . .
