prepping the trash can turkey

Lordie! Looks like it's being tortured! How did you cook it in the trash can? Did you build a fire in there?

@margonaut You turn the trash can upside down over the top of the turkey then put coal on the bottom (which is now the “top”) and around the base of the trash can. Then you light all that on fire for an hour and a half or something like that.

Sounds like an option for those of us with dysfunctional ovens. Did it work?

@margonaut Yes! And it cooks fairly quickly. It ruins the grass but we’re willing to sacrifice some lawn for good turkey.
