Of the five options, I would chose the first on the left. But I cannot say whether it symbolises New Zealand or its aspiration.

May I ask why you are getting a new flag? Interesting referendum to be voting on. What do the symbols in the flags represent?

@taffy Changing flags are debated over decades, the main augments are New Zealand flag is too much like the flag of Australia, both countries had experiences of being greeted with the other country’s flag. But the main points are NZ is an independent country, the link with UK is the history and there is a need to reflect the Māori heritage of NZ.
However the cost of 30 million is huge and that upset a lot of people here.
