R. K. LeBlond Machine Tool Company

Ande's out of town on his 175-mile bike ride for MS this weekend. I had a nice, enjoyable day then decided to go out to dinner and to the movies. For some reason, I got the best seat at Redlands Grill, right by the window overlooking the LeBlond tower.

When I first moved here in 1981, The R.K. LeBlond Machine Tool Company was still in operation (since 1918) at the corners of Madison and Edwards in Norwood before moving its operation to Mason as Makino Machine Tool Company. The site was converted into a shopping and eatery complex in 1993 and the iconic LeBlond smoke stack was built into its design.

I loved sitting in my great window seat overlooking the old LeBlond as I ate my Rainbow Trout. 😊

I am glad they keep some of the history, if a place closes...little reminders of the past.
