This week we want you to practice one of the most dramatic photography techniques to master, with the theme 'low-key'!
We have some super talented low key experts here on 365project, so why not check out the latest photos tagged with 'lowkey' for some inspiration.
To get started, you'll need to decide on a subject or find a willing model, choose a dark space or backdrop and choose your one light source - natural or artificial will work! Unless you have a super steady hand, this might also be a good time to use your tripod for extra stability when shooting in low lighting.
We found this great blog post on iphotographycourse.com which will walk you through ideal camera settings to try, plus don't forget you can always tweak your images and black out the background in Photoshop (or lots of other apps/software)!
Now it's over to you - have fun and see what you end up with!
How to enter this week's theme
When uploading your photos use the tag section (on the edit/organise screen) and insert this week's theme tag: theme-low-key (Don't forget the extra '-' in 'low-key').
Entry Guidelines: Photos must be your own and must have been taken and uploaded from Tuesday 25th September until the following Sunday (6 days). 5 finalists will be chosen on the Monday evening (PST), then you get to vote for the winner.
Winner of the 'Plastic' theme
Thank you again to everyone who took time to vote for winner this week. We're thrilled to announce @northy as the winner of the plastic theme!
We love @northy's fun and quirky take on the theme and can see why it caught the 365 community's eyes! The low key, monochrome finish adds extra drama to this fantastically plasticy looking model, making for a beautiful photograph. Congrats!
Vote for the 'Aqua' theme winner
What a fun load of submissions you guys have submitted for last week's aqua theme! From puddles and de drops, to seasides and splashes - we loved them all! It was tricky but we finally managed to choose just five finalists so now it's over to you!
To cast your vote, just reply to this blog post with the number (in digit form) of the photo you would like to see win.
