For many of us, seasons are changing and our days are getting shorter (sob!), but this also allows us to start playing with low light photography. So, this week's theme is 'night'.
From twinkling city lights, to magical starry skies, some of the most enchanting photographs we've seen have been taken at nighttime.
Another fun challenge for evening shoots is to capture traffic whizzing past with a long exposure, achieving an exciting and electric shot of what is probably mundane commuter traffic.
There's also lots of fun to be had indoors, by playing with harsh shadows, low lighting from candles or lamps, or the raindrops on a window glistening under street lamps outside.
Whatever you come up with, we're already looking forward to seeing your photos!
How to enter this week's theme
When uploading your photos use the tag section (on the edit/organise screen) and insert this week's theme tag: theme-night.
Entry Guidelines: Photos must be your own and must have been taken and uploaded from Tuesday 28th August until the following Sunday (6 days). 5 finalists will be chosen on the Monday evening (PST), then you get to vote for the winner.
Winner of the 'Matrimony' theme
Thanks again for taking the time to vote this week! We're excited to see the finalists recieved so much love for their photos - so much so that we have two winners of the matrimony theme! Congratulations to @northy and @christinabengephotography!
We love @northy's simple, yet bold take on the theme, which is certainly outside of the box! As always, the use of light and monochrome packs a punch - a signature style we'll never get tired of seeing!
In contrast, @christinabengephotography's more traditional take on the theme really sparkles! With intentional lighting and depth of field, the romance is perfectly emphasized for this simple but symbolic shot.
Vote for the 'Alphabet' theme winner
It was so great to see that some of you had a lot of fun with the alphabet theme! So many creative and obscure shots 'letters' really see the beauty in the most simple of things.
To cast your vote, just reply to this blog post with the number (in digit form) of the photo you would like to see win.
My vote goes for 2! The blue letters stand out beautifully and has my mind wondering what is being said.
Thanks for choosing my matches!
