silver efex pro2

Hi there,
Anyone out there use silver effect pro 2 plug in for B&W?. I would like opinions about whether or not it's worth buying. I use photoshop cc and LR for post processing.
I downloaded the trial version just now so will be experimenting for free for the next 15 days

I have it and use it lots... Definitely think it's worthwhile... That said, I think there are a couple photogs here who use LR and /or PS for bw and find it just as good if not better...

It's well thought of by many people. Personally, i don't use it now, doing all conversions myself in Photoshop and Camera Raw especially.. I find that I can now do everything i found in it when i ran the free trial, and more besides.

I'm a big Photoshop user and I use Silver Efix Pro for all all my B&W conversions. I find it easy to use and I like the results. I'm sure you could achieve the same effects in just PS, but I think this makes it easier

Definitely a key tool that I use a lot. I haven't yet found a program that surpasses it for the degree of control after converting, or the ease of using the presets if you prefer those. The trial will let you decide if it fits your needs.

I use it and love it. I did a one day Scott Kelby course and even he uses it now rather than PS or LR. Can't think of a better recommendation than that.

I tried it several times during my black and white February but almost always I got results I liked more using Lightroom.

@jantan WOW, That's awesome, I'm only 2 days into my FREE trial and I love it. I think I can do much of it in LR and PS but it is a lot quicker in Silver efex pro.

I have used it for most of my B&W 365 project and have my go to's of Wet Rocks for the more punchy images. But now I use that or Alien Skin Exposure 7 or even do them manually but only use PS CC.
