So I completed this project for years. Then kept trying to pick it up and kept dropping off again - usually to do with my health more than anything else.
I've finally been discharged from hospital today after 6 months on an eating disorder ward, which followed 5 months of being in and out of general wards.
I'm really excited to live my life, now! I'm finally looking forward to living and to seeing where life takes me.
I've decided to pick up this project again, for at least a year, to document my first full year of recovery. Some will be arty. Some will just be my life. Lucky, my newly adopted cat, is likely to feature a lot.
I'd love to get back in contact with people again, and to have people come on my journey with me :)
Bravo Naomi!! Wishing you the best of everything on your recovery. When I lost my job in 2010, 365 became a life-line for me. I think it will be a great way for you to document the coming year and there's no better place for a crowd to cheer you along!
So good to see you again! I try to follow your wonderfully creative Instagram posts, but I'm happy to see you back into photography! Particularly looking forward to meeting Lucky! Welcome back, sweetie!
Congratulations to you! That is quite an accomplishment. I hope you and your new kitty have a wonderful time together. I took in a stray kitty myself 2 years ago...she is my very first kitty. :)
I am so happy to see that you are back and healthy, Naomi! I loved following your project before and am looking forward to your new project. Best of wishes on your new journey - I know you will do great!!
@naomi Well done :) Having someone in the family suffering from a similar situation I know it's an extremely difficult to overcome and difficult for those close to you to understand.
@naomi yeah get on with it Lady. Best cure for any mental impact is photography. Lots of research is now showing this I could have told them that over three years ago.
Just enjoy the project again and be kind to yourself you will be fine. Despite what you think you are a wonderful person who should enjoy life to fullest extent you can. So if you are feeling shit post a shit photo and ask for world wide support. That you willl certainly get from within this group. If I can help then I will not as regular as I used to be on 365 but have seen a close member of family and friend suffer from anorexia. Chin up, smile on, camera ready and go for it!!’
@naomi Welcome back Naomi and well done for all the progress you have made. Life is for living and enjoying everything around you. 365 is a life saver and kept me going when my Mum was dying from cancer. It's a fantastic way to stay connected. Big hugs
Hi Naomi, How lovely to see this post. I've seen a few tweets from you but really look forward to following your journey to recovery here too. I hope you can use your photography as a kind of therapy - I know that works for me (although I haven't been what you have been through). Big Welcome back!
