This week we will focus our assignment and skills on taking everyday household objects and showing them in an abstract way. This is a great skill to develop because it allows you to take something you stare at every single day and show it in a different way. Think about the color, the contrast, the shape, the texture, the detail and highlight that in a photograph. This challenge was chosen because many of us are in the dead of winter and do not get to see daylight on work days, so this allows us to find inspiration in the ordinary and not have to brave the cold.
@lluniau i cannot search any photo tags right now, so hopefully it will be fixed in a bit. Here is a photo, but what is funny is this is one of the few household items I actually did in abstract style.
@brumbe Thanks again so much for posting these challenges. Having just started year two myself, I was thinking that I would need some motivation and ideas to keep myself going, and you've captured it perfectly! Can't wait.
To search for the abstract august tag I just search for the thread. Then pick one of the pictures someone submitted. Finally click on their "abstractaugust" tag for their photo and voila, you get them all.
this is a shot from AbstractAugust last year, an egg carton that happened to be on my bench. Great weekly challenge Paula, now, I am off to put my thinking cap on....
@scooter I do like it and that is why I picked this week in particular for this challenge. I figured that we are all finally back to normal after the holidays and meeting the doldrums of winter so this one works on using our visual and creative ideas.
I'm a bit embarrassed about this, but it fits the theme, 20 years of grime was hidden under some trays on top of the fridge. I only saw it because the repair guy came. (its clean now)
@cjlangen tagging it will allow others to do a search, but to add to the conversation with your photo these are the directions.
There are two easy ways to add pictures on to the discussion.
The first is a full size photo: 1) Click on your favorite photo and bring up its page. 2)Look at the right side of your monitor, and go to the word SHARE (it is below tags) 3) go to the box and copy the long address 4) Come back to the discussion, and then paste. 5) If it is not your photo also tag the person who it belongs to so they know you love it (@name) remember no punctuation on either side of the @and name.
can anyone please tell me how i get my entry on this board? i dont see an upload button, i put the tag in my tag and didnt post here.....i am a newbie sorry. and sorry if iam not suppose to ask here i searched and couldnt find the answer :( thank you!!

Saw that Paula already launched a new challenge for this week, couldn't help though but posting a last one.... I mixed this challenge with the yellow2 theme.... Thought the y in y2abstract stood for yellow, silly me.
(although tag search isn't working at present)
The tag search hasn't been working for a good week or more...
Hope that helps.
Yea, I'm still here...fighting to get going again.
Blue Fringe
I so love this weeks challenge.
Found hidden in my lampshade
@boshaft at first I thought it was a shamwow
Bottom of a crystal bowl , turned upside down with a tea light shinning through

The second is to have a smaller file size so to keep the site from getting overwhelmed. http://365project.org/discuss/general/1323/how-to-adding-an-image-in-a-discussion

Its really just my coat hanger leaning up against the wall, in B&W. Slow day. Thank goodness I put my coat on or I may not have had a pic.
