Thanks to everyone who took the time to put in suggestions for the next Artist Challenge. I will compile a list so we have an alternative option if any future AC winner wishes to refer to it. However, in the end I decide to choose the German photographer Rut Blees Luxemburg after receiving a fantastic book for Christmas called ''Vitamin Ph: New Perspectives in Photography''.
To any newbies reading this, the artist challenge is where we try to emulate or get inspired by a specific artist, either photographic or not. The photos produced can reference or even recreate works by the artist or simply be created in the style of or even via the influence of the artist.
''Her technique is to take photographs at night, mostly exploring the urban landscape...She employs long exposures to allows her to use the light emanating from the street only, for instance from office blocks or street lights in her photos''
She likes to use the night light of urban spaces and work in colour.
The Streets debut album 'Original Pirate Material' used one of her shots of a council block lit up at night
Hmmmmmm interesting! I might be able to actually do this one, I already have an idea from my 6am to work time...assuming I could actually get there EARLIER to do it, not holding my breath on that one but hey, it could happen!! ;)

@rich_t I can absolutely see your style in her work, can't wait to see what YOU come up with! I noticed just this morning an interesting setup as I was driving by that would be good for this.
oooo....I can't wait to see what you all come up with. If my husband gets to be home at night this week (to stay with the baby) I might try to sneak out into town to give it a try. Otherwise I will attempt to get creative with it out here in the boonies lol
I had no idea who she was, but the photography of "A Weekend in the City" inspired many a late night jaunt through Brisbane. Sadly, that's no longer an option, as I'm a country boy now, but I will see if I can pull together something along the abstract lines.

@peterdegraaff Thanks for the invite to the artist's challenge, Peter! A cityscape at night is beyond my immediate means, but I will look through the artist's other work and see what I can come up with.
My effort for the artists challenge - I do love landscapes! This is to replicate what Julian Alden Weir likes! It was my picture and I would have preferred to have some water in it but there it is! I have a feeling we are all supposed to do Rut Blees but I didn't feel it was specifically explained to be just her and no one else!
Thanks for the notification......I love to have a go at the artist challenges but I'm country situated more than urban.....I will try and come up with something though.
