Thank you to all who suggested words for 2014’s Jumpin-4-January.
Please note that the dates are just recommendations and you do not have to stick to them, you can use any of the 38 words in any order you like, if you wish to.
The tag for January will continue in the same format as before, First three letters or the month, the year and then ‘words’.
* So tag your photos with jan14words to see them all here: jan14words .
In total we had 367 words nominated and this is how I have compiled our list:
- First, I removed the words that were used in December.
- I then counted up the number of times that the words were nominated. I used all words with four or more nominations, and all words with three nominations that had a date associated.
- Words without a date association were added randomly throughout the month.
- Some words were not included as they were used in December, for example sparkle, snowman, and hat.
- I did take some liberties and changes some, such as grey-day, hot-day, sunshine, clouds and put them all into “weather”.
- As agreed in previous months, the following words are bonus words each month; Birthday and Anniversary along with the Star Signs and Birth Stones. I also added Birth Flowers. The bonus words are: Birthday, Anniversary, Garnet, Capricorn, Aquarius, Garnet, Carnation and Snowdrop.

Thank you Debra for taking over this list from Bulldog. I have not followed the list much in the past few months, but it's the first place I look when searching for inspiration.
Thank you @debrac December words was my first Newbie challenge and it got me into 365 mode. I look forward to working through this super list in February. :)
@debrac thank you so much for taking this over. This is a wonderful list to pull from for inspiration.Even if you do not do them all..or do them on the exact days.
Hi Catherine, thank you for your best wishes but please don't thank me for the January list as it was Debra ( @debrac ) who took the time to consolidate and create this list.
Sorry, @debrac ... I thought I thanked you as soon as you posted the list, but I do not see it here...
Thank you for all you have done to keep the monthly word themes up and running... helping to inspire so many wonderful images and giving @bulldog a well deserved break.
@bulldog Thank you for your work on this project in 2013. I enjoy the attmosphere of this challenge because it allows for each to interpret the word of the day as see things. Then you allowed us to use words in on any day we had an image.
@debrac Thank you for taking on this project for 2014.
I've just joined 365 yesterday as in the past i've struggled for inspiration and i'm liking the sound of this challenge already. Thank you to all those who have contributed words and to @debrac for compiling the list. I look forward to being inspired.
No apologies, thank you for the link. I had it printed a day or two ago lol. Thank you for the time you took to do this. I love getting these lists every month :)
Looking for a theme to help me with my daily photos and I am a little confused with the theme and challenges board...are there several themes/challenges and you just pick the one you want to do? Then you tag the theme in your photo? So for this one I use a different word from the list above each day and use as my inspiration for my photos?
@luvmy2kids0 Hi April. Yes, you can participate in as many themes/challenges as you would like, and tag your photos according to the appropriate theme (this one you would tag your photo jan14words, the Camera Settings Challege would have a tag of CSC(and which ever number they are now on), the weekly theme that Ross posts is taged theme-(whatever he named it for the week).
This particular challenge uses a different word each day. You can post each day or come and go as you need inspiration. I tend to do the later, but where I am hosting this year, I will try to do it more often. The number on the list and the callendar date correspond, but we are pretty informal, and you don't have to do them in that order. There are also some bonus words...should one of the daily words leave you a bit stumped, or you have a celebration that you would like to photograph.
All of the challenges are designed to help you learn and/or be inspired, so have fun and jump in.
I hope you didn't find this too tricky?

Then change the two ( to < and the two ) to >
@debrac Thank you for taking on this project for 2014.
The "two"? "Then change the two ( to < and the two ) to > "
I'm sorry it has taken me so long to get the link fixed (I thank Bulldog for his help there), everyone. I have been a bit under the weather.
A great start to the new year. Thank you all for participating.
