Show Us Your Pumps

September 19th, 2015
It has been a while since I posted a challenge but having just discovered the beauty of Vintage Water Pumps and their history, I thought it would be a nice challenge to go out and find some water pumps to photograph and share.

There are so many of these old pumps about and there are no rules to this challenge, simple share some past photos, take a photo of your village/town pump, or go on the search for some.

Please tag your photos with water-pump as there were a couple of shot with this tag

For those of you in the UK, this site www.villagepumps.org.uk will give you some inspiration, but I am sure there are pumps all over the world.

Below are a couple of my local ones from the past few days.

Sadly - I can't seem to find any on google for Toronto... Although I'm betting there's at least one somewhere!

So cool. My grandmother's house used to have one. It was always a competition between us kids to see who would get to work it.

A google search in my area is turning up repair companies and current equipment. I keep looking though.

Ooh how fun, I have a couple from Italy which I can dig out...

@bulldog I saw your competition and I thought you were asking to see shapely ankles! While I can no longer compete in THAT competition, I know I have a water pump in my recent files that I can post....

I usually shoot pumps in macro - and generally just the outlet. Is that still considered a "pump" for the purposes of this group? :)
