Ready for snacking.

The cactus fruit are ripening all over the island. One can buy them in the market if one isn't up to the task of picking them; they don't have spines.

These lovelies are grown at the front of the apricots and figs of the orchard next door.

Those colors are so beautiful!
Amazing!! I never see it in real....

I would know what to do with apricots and figs, but not cactus fruit. Are they sweet? They look very attractive in their colourful clothing.

How do you eat these - squash them up into your mouth? They look as if they would be juicy!

@helenhall @maggiemae They are sweet and juicy. They must be peeled carefully in order to be sure all of the spines are removed, but there is an easy method for doing that. They can be eaten like any other fruit like kiwi or guava. They are good for juice, jellies, salsas, etc. They are full of seeds which don't hurt you. They are high in fiber and vitamin C
