My Get Pushed challenge this week came from Sally, who asked me to produce a photograph showing repetitions.
This afternoon I went to one of the local cemeteries. I haven't been there since I was a teenager (many years ago) as I thought it might prove a good spot to experiment with infrared. The results for me at any rate are always rather hit and miss, and shortly after this shot was taken, the cloud cover increased dramatically and infrared was no longer an option.
I thought it might be a good candidate for the subject of repetitions, although perhaps not one that I had expected to submit. This cemetery was very well tended and in a beautiful spot. I left there feeling very peaceful and glad I had visited.
You can 'see' in infra red just fine. This has good depth and the different shades of the foliage is important in this, as are those repetitions I'm surprised that the headstones have come out so light... shame they are not darker. If you look at those darker trees in the background you can see the importance of contrasting shades.
@yrhenwr Thanks v much for your input. I've been using the RAW image, changing the Channel Mixer, adding Hue/Saturation layer and then faffing about in Silver Efex and sometimes Viveza as well. Just to test I used the jpeg on another shot and think I preferred the result. Might add it tomorrow, would like to know your thoughts pse.
