It wasn’t meant to be. I had resigned myself to posting a filler, because today’s a busy day; but this nasturtium just outside the kitchen window reached up high on its skinny stem above the rest like a friend waving her hand above a crowd shouting, “Here I am! Over here!” So no filler today. Just my friend, Nasturtium.
I am thankful that I took the time to make this image. I got more familiar with my new polarizing filter, and I noticed that I'm becoming more selective with the amount of background blur.
@denisef58 Thank you, Denise! I was really thinking I'd have to use a filler today, but when I saw this nasturtium, I couldn't help stopping what I was doing to photograph it. I guess a filler wasn't meant to be today!
@dsp2 Thank you for your kind comment! And an extra thank you for calling my attention to the lovely fragrance of nasturtiums! I've grown nasturtiums for years for their vibrant pops of color and graceful trailing habit, but I never realized they had a fragrance. After reading your words, I went outside and put my nose to a dew-covered blossom. You're right! They do indeed have a heavenly fragrance! I'm learning more than just photography here on 365! :-)
Love this. Glad I discovered your photos. Enjoy reading your commentary as well. Spent 4 years in western Pennsylvania (college at Chatham in Pittsburgh) a lifetime ago. Fav
