It Wasn't Meant To Be

It wasn’t meant to be. I had resigned myself to posting a filler, because today’s a busy day; but this nasturtium just outside the kitchen window reached up high on its skinny stem above the rest like a friend waving her hand above a crowd shouting, “Here I am! Over here!” So no filler today. Just my friend, Nasturtium.

I am thankful that I took the time to make this image. I got more familiar with my new polarizing filter, and I noticed that I'm becoming more selective with the amount of background blur.

I've grown nasturtiums for years for their vibrant pops of color and graceful trailing habit, but I never realized they had a fragrance. After reading your words, I went outside and put my nose to a dew-covered blossom. You're right! They do indeed have a heavenly fragrance! I'm learning more than just photography here on 365! :-)
