When we arrived at Murrysville Community Park Wetlands yesterday, we found the purple martin house occupied and busy! Adult males and females frequently sailed in and out as they fed insects to hungry young waiting inside the various chambers. Mesmerized, we spent quite a bit of time admiring these gorgeous swallows — despite the fact that a wasp flew up my pant leg and stung me twice!
I can hardly believe I've posted 363 pictures in my 365 album already! I only have 2 more to go before completing my 365 project; and I'm feeling quite unsure about what life will be like without this amazingly uplifting community!
Fantastic timing on this capture and a fav for me. Sorry to hear about the wasp - they like to fly right at me! And PLEASE consider Year 2 - I'd love to see you continue on!
Oh, I do hope you'll continue to share your pictures and thoughts - we all enjoy them so much. Really nice work on capturing the martin in flight with those wings spread so nicely.
@quietpurplehaze Thank you, Hazel, for suggesting I continue on to year 2. I still haven't made a final decision yet. It's a tough decision to make, but I suppose I must decide. I always appreciate when you stop by my project and comment. It's been a real pleasure sharing this journey with you! :-)
Janet, you could always be more relaxed & not post every day - but personally I have never found that possible!! Thank you so much for your such kind words which mean a lot.
@linnypinny Thank you, Lin, for taking the time to comment and for offering encouragement to continue on to year 2. It's a tough decision for me, and I'm still wrestling with it. I suppose I'll decide right when I post my last picture! I've enjoyed your project very much, and I'm so grateful for all of your support. It's been a joy to celebrate the good things in life with you!
@milaniet Thank you, Milanie, for your kind words about continuing along with 365. I'm still undecided! Wow, it's a tough decision; and I'm guessing I won't know for sure until I post my last picture. Your support throughout my project touched my heart. Your thoughtful comments encouraged me along my journey, and I'm so grateful. Your project opened my eyes to so much beauty and inspired me to go for early morning walks as soon as my still healing Achilles will allow. What a gift it's been getting to know you through this amazing site!
@frappa77 Thank you so much, Francesca, for your encouragement to continue along with a second year. I still have not made a final decision yet. It's a decision I'm finding hard to make! I'm so thankful for your support. Your kind words always brightened my day, and I very much enjoyed the beautiful moments you captured and posted in your project!
@novab Thank you, Nova, for taking the time to comment. I'm still working on making a decision about year 2, and I probably won't be totally sure until I post my last image! Please know that I'm very grateful for your support of my project. Your kind comments lifted me up and encouraged me on my journey. Your project opened my eyes to new techniques, and your ingenuity inspired me. Also, I loved getting to know Nova Scotia through your lens!
