Thanks, Mom. by janetb

Thanks, Mom.

Looking through dozens of Mom’s little prayer booklets all piled up in a moss-covered basket, I found two with dog-eared pages. One of the two dog-eared booklets went to my sister. This one is mine. Why did Mom turn down the corner of this page? Only she knows. What I know is that, touching the corner, I feel her reassuring presence. And I, life-long nature nut, volunteer naturalist, and former nature store owner, can’t help but notice this prayer’s all about nature; and then I remember there are no coincidences.
It's your moms way of letting you know she was there and that she was thinking about you & your love of nature through one of Davidson's poems.
Mom's are special in that way. Loving photo in remembrance of her.

Presenting this special page with its turned down corner against the dark table with the autumn leaves around it is just beautiful. A nature store huh? Bet that was a job you loved going to.

Thanks for sharing. I feel the same. I do read daily my sons Bible he received in his first school year when he started reading. It bring back good memories. He passed away in a car crash in Mauritius in 2008.

Oh, Sylvia, I am so very sorry to read of your son's passing. My heart breaks for your loss. What a special blessing it is that you have your son's Bible to read, and what amazing grace God bestows upon you through the good memories it brings back to you. Thank you for commenting on my image of my Mom's prayer booklet and explaining how you can relate to it. Feeling the presence of our loved ones is indeed reassuring and such a comfort. I'm praying for you, my friend.

The Lord bless you and keep you;
The Lord make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace. (Numbers 6:24-26)
