I’ve run from a little old woman
and a little old man,
and I can run from you, I can!
Those familiar words from The Gingerbread Man fairy tale conjure up all sorts of delicious memories of one little daughter and one little son and this happy Momma reading snuggled. No wonder that, of all the Mark Roberts Fairies in my collection, this Gingerbread Fairy is my favorite. Dozens of Fairies decorate our home for Christmas with all their twinkling eyes and playful grins popping up happy in unexpected places. ‘Tis the season for a bit of magic!
I love the story of the Gingerbread Man. My daughter used to do a week-long activity with her pre-schoolers where they made gingerbread man, baked him, he disappeared, and they spent the next 3 days hunting him. Was always so cute. Thanks for the memory..
@milaniet That sounds like an activity those preschoolers surely would love! When I see gingerbread men, I can't help but smile. I had The Gingerbread Man fairy tale book when I was young, and then I read it to my children when they were young. Gingerbread men are near and dear to my heart. Thank you for commenting!
@lyndemc Thanks, Denise! I had to stand on the counter to capture this since this Fairy sits atop a kitchen cabinet. Not the best idea for my Achilles, but the dangling gingerbread man was calling to me. :-)
This is such a wonderful photo! We've decorated for Christmas, and I've taken about 20 photos, but none to post because none of them are special like this one.
