Each decoration takes me on a trip down Memory Lane. Strolling along, this glittery snowman and I met up with my dear friend Mickey. The snowman’s coat and hat features the artwork of Thomas Kinkade; and oh, how Mickey loved his art. I’ve collected snowmen and adored birds for years; and oh, how she knew that. Her gifts were always this thoughtful, this full of meaning. Her presence lit up a room; and oh, how sweet memories of her still do.
Wonderful focus and effect, and I enjoyed reading your narrative. How interesting to have this snowman adorned with work featuring Thomas Kinkade's awesome style ...and this one has such a cheerful expression! fav
@skstein Thank you, Sandy! I created this bokeh by using a large f2.8 aperture on my 50mm lens and putting about 4' of space between the snowman and the tree. I originally had the aperture set at f1.8, but I liked the f2.8 effect better for this shot. I hope you have lots of fun playing around with creating bokeh. It is really neat to see the different effects that changing the aperture creates.
Really wonderful shot, Janet - love the background of bokeh. And loved your commentary - ornaments collect so many memories to be revisited each season - one of the nicer traditions of Christmas.
